Executive and Functional Test of the Lordegan Project Gas Compressor

The eight-stage turbine gas centrifugal compressor with a capacity of 14.5 MW, as the largest compressor supplied by Havayar, belongs to the Lordegan Petrochemical Project, whose executive and functional tests were successfully carried out by Howden CKD Co. in the presence of the main client.

This compressor is designed in eight stages in accordance with API 617 standard, which increases the input pressure of 0.5 bar to a maximum of 161 bar at an output temperature of 133 degrees Celsius.

This project, in addition to the gas compressor, includes a steam turbine, multiple cooling devices between stages, gas sealing system, lubrication system, coupling piping and instrumentation and control equipment, which adds to the complexity and importance of this package.

The engineering and fabrication phases of this project began in 2012, but due to the existing sanctions, the project was completely halted for two years. Owing to the two-year gap in the process of manufacturing this compressor, the performance test of this compressor encountered problems in the early stages, however, with the constructive measures taken in the past year with the cooperation of Havayar and Howden CKD, the compressor performance problems were fully fixed and the re-test was conducted successfully.
